Havaş, one of the largest companies in ground handling services sector in Turkey, was included in the Turquality Support Program, which was established to develop strong and global Turkish brands. Havaş gets ready to improve its goal to become a global brand with the support of Turquality.
Operating at 26 airports all over Turkey in ground handling services sector, which is one of the world's most challenging sectors, and celebrating its 85th anniversary this year, Havaş was included in the Turquality Support Program. Listed among Turquality brands, Havaş will sustain its growth in the global market more effectively by improving its experience in the sector and adaptation capability to different geographies through additional investments. Havaş provides ground handling services at Riga Airport in Latvia, as well as Madinah Airport in Saudi Arabia.
Havaş General Manager Kürşad Koçak stated, "We are glad that our well-established company was included in the Turquality Support Program, which is the first and only state-funded branding program in the world. We will be more efficient and stronger to proceed in line with our goals to grow in the global market and to become a global brand. Our goal is to reach new airports abroad to offer our services though the sustainable and profitable growth oriented investments".
Explaining that Havaş had been transferring its successful practices achieved by its highly-qualified human resources and know-how and experiences acquired in the sector to the overseas market, namely Riga Airport and then Saudi Arabia, since 2010, Kürşad Koçak remarked, "Today, Havaş is a brand that provides service to more than 200 airlines over 3 countries, as well as more than 130 million passengers via handling approximately 465,000 flights, and carrying 860,000 tons of cargo and over 100 million baggage together with its subsidiaries. Havaş has included several international airline companies in its portfolio during its overseas services and continues to improve its collaborations. We also continue to make additional investments to increase the efficiency of our operations abroad. Recently, we have inaugurated a new station building at Madinah Airport with the attendance of the officials from Saudi Arabia Civil Aviation Authority (GACA), as well as other local officials. As a result, we expanded our Madinah station with this new station building established over a total area of 1,000 square meters, where equipment maintenance and parking area covers 700 square meters and offices cover 600 square meters. We will continue to achieve an upward and onward growth in the international arena with the support of the Turquality program".
Havaş offers full passenger and operation services including passenger and baggage handling, ramp, aircraft cleaning, load control and communication, de-icing, cargo, flight operations, transportation, representation and supervision services to several airlines including AirBaltic, Turkish Airlines, SAS, Ukraine International Airlines, Air Europa, UTair, Aegean Airlines, Onurair, Freebird, Corendon, Air Arabia, Tunis Air, Pegasus, Sun Express, Gulf Air, Azerbaijan, Jazeera Airways, Atlasglobal, Tailwind, Badr at Riga and Medinah airports. In 2017, Havaş handled more than 1 million baggage at both airports and provided service to approximately 25,000 flights and over 2 million passengers.
