Havaş celebrates April 23rd with a festival on the apron

Havaş, the first ground handling company in Turkey, organized a festival for the children of its employees at Istanbul, Antalya and Dalaman airports as part of the celebrations for April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children's Day. The children had the opportunity to closely observe the aircraft and apron vehicles and enjoyed an exciting day full of various activities and contests.

Celebrating the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the company this year, Havaş, the first ground handling company in Turkey, organized a children's festival at its stations within Istanbul Atatürk, Antalya and Dalaman airports as part of April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children's Day. Organized on the apron for the children to get the opportunity to know more about their parents' professions, Havaş Children's Festival was attended by over 200 children with ages varying between 6 and 10. A tour was organized on the apron for the children to closely see aircraft and apron vehicles and the children enjoyed several contests and activities. The children were given their cartoons drawn together with the aircraft and ground handling service vehicles and received various presents as part of the celebrations.
 
Havaş General Manager Kürşad Koçak stated, "We proudly and enthusiastically celebrated the April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, dedicated to all children by Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of Turkish Republic, at our stations within Istanbul Atatürk, Antalya and Dalaman airports together with the children of our employees. Commemorating also the 98th anniversary of the first opening of Grand National Assembly of Turkey in this meaningful day, we are more than happy to be together with our children who are the representatives of our future. Every year on April 23rd, we organize these festivals for our children to learn more about the aviation sector and their parents' professions while having fun. I hope to introduce the professionals of the future to the aviation sector through these festivals. I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate one more time April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day of all children".

Having a tour on the apron together with their parents, children had the opportunity to closely observe aircraft, passenger boarding stairs, push back vehicles and luggage trucks. Boarding an aircraft for the first time, children took photos in front of the aircraft and apron vehicles. Following the tour on the apron, the children were greeted by clowns and pirates and fairytale characters such as Cinderella, Snow White, etc., got their faces painted and played games like tug of war, gunny sack race, etc. Participating in the activities and contests, children were also given a colorful sand painting game as a present.
