Havaş completes preparations at 31 stations and begins providing service at twenty airports

Havaş, Turkey's long-established ground handling services company, began providing service to scheduled passenger flights with all measures taken against the Coronavirus following the transition period. Welcoming passengers of repatriation flights as well as cargo flights during travel restrictions, the company increased its capacity with the removal of restrictions for the scheduled flights in Turkey following Latvia.

Havaş provides ground handling services to more than 200 airlines at 31 airports in Turkey, Latvia and Saudi Arabia. As travel restrictions are removed, the company began providing ground handling services to the scheduled flights arriving at/departing from Izmir Adnan Menderes, Antalya, Ankara Esenboğa, Bodrum, Dalaman, Gazipaşa, Gaziantep, Batman, Ordu Giresun, Şanlıurfa, Sivas, Adana, Konya, Kayseri, Trabzon, Elazığ, Muş, Adıyaman, Ağrı ve Amasya-Merzifon airports starting from this week. Havaş has taken all required measures specified by national and international aviation authorities against the Coronavirus.

Havaş shuttle services provided between airports and city centers have been re-initiated in Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Trabzon, Bodrum, Dalaman, Gazipaşa, Elazığ, Erzincan, Adana, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kayseri, Konya, Mardin, Ordu-Giresun, Samsun, Sivas and Şanlıurfa with social distancing measures, obligation to put on a mask as well as regular disinfection practices.

Havaş General Manager Kürşad Koçak stated, ‘’We have received our certifications once we fully and completely implemented all measures specified in ‘Airport Measures for Pandemic and Certification Circular’ published by Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation, SHGM. We also implement all required measures determined by the local authorities at our Latvia station and we completed preparations in our Saudi Arabia station. Health and safety of our employees and passengers is always our priority. In the past period, we played a significant role by providing services to repatriation flights, passenger flights, scheduled cargo flights and flights carrying aid materials together with limited number of employees. We are fully and completely ready for operation at our 31 stations in Turkey. For the first stage, we began welcoming scheduled flights at twenty airports. We expect all our remaining stations to begin providing services at full capacity in the following days.”

Besides social distancing, regular disinfection implementations and air conditioning systems at work stations, Havaş daily provides protective equipment including masks, hand sanitizers, face shields, bodysuits, goggles, etc. to all of its employees.

During the operation, computers and equipment in common use, as well as all equipment and tools including telephones, microphones, radios, etc. are disinfected after each user.
